WELCOME TO HOMESTEAD 09

WE'RE BACK!

And better than ever.

We took some time off to focus on our fall sale, which was a huge success by the way. We're excited for everyone that had a chance to take advantage of it!

Now the shop is full of new product and looking rather dapper indeed.

We're the most excited about our custom waxed leather upholstered pieces. We rescued a pair of Knoll Saarinen Executive Arm Chairs, a Swedish Overman style sofa and a vintage medical stool from certain death or worse - life in a college apartment. These pieces are Mid Century works of art and they deserve better. Now they're upholstered in the highest quality leather out there (we got our hands on the Resto stuff folks) and they look incredible.

We feel like proud parents. Just look at that sofa. Seriously.

WAIT, THERE'S MORE.

We have a new Chesterfield chair!

From England. It's the real thing and it is comfortable. What a handsome chair. It'll be up in the shop this week along with anything else in the tour that's not listed currently.

As always if you see something you like let us know. We ship nationwide and you can visit the showroom by appointment anytime.

Enjoy the tour!

Thanks for stopping by. See you next week!

WELCOME TO HOMESTEAD 08

Hey folks, hope everyone is having a great week!

Our week has certainly been busy and we can give a large chunk of credit to Etsy for that. We feel very fortunate that they chose to use our black chesterfield as the cover photo for their vintage furniture section. It has brought a lot of new eyes to the shop and now the sofa is our most favorited piece of furniture to date!

This sofa is a masterpiece and deserves to have everyone swooning over it. Good for you little sofa.

We're really proud of the shop right now. It feels great to have it set up as more traditional living and dining rooms. Our favorite new pieces are definitely the Broyhill Forward 70 dresser set and the pair of green velvet chairs that we rescued from a living a sad life with fringe. We're sad to see the large drafting table go after having owned it for so long, but at least we get to see it looking particularly attractive in this week's tour.

We could brag about the shop all day but you should probably just take a look for yourself!

As always, enjoy the tour and let us know if you see anything you like.

Thanks for stopping by. See you next week!

HOMESTEAD OFFICE UPGRADE

Posted on September 13, 2013 by Michele Tansey | 1 Comment

Hello everyone!

TGIF. Seriously.

There weren't a lot of changes in the shop this week, so instead of a Welcome to Homestead post we've got this little gem to share.

Over Labor Day weekend we decided to expand our showroom which in turn meant moving our office to the (mostly) finished basement. The goal for the basement is to use it as a large indoor workspace this winter. Right now it's where we store our upcoming projects and inventory backstock. It can get a little crazy down there to say the least.

We started clearing out the new office space in the early afternoon and completed the setup as it was getting dark. It was a tiring process, we decluttered and meticulously organized everything. Worth it. We haven't had a functioning office in months.

Next video we make I promise not to be in my workout clothes. (That is absolutely not true.)

Enjoy!

Thanks to our friend Tori Wadzita for patiently documenting this process with us. If you want a cool video made, she's your girl.

Hello all!

Hopefully everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. We certainly did!

We planned to spend the holiday painting and organizing our office. It had become a complete nightmare and absolutely not usable. Once the office was finally cleared out and the first coat of paint was on the walls we realized that the space would be much more useful as an extension of the showroom. We were thrilled.

The expansion took up a lot of our time last week. That coupled with the fact that we never ever stop working means that I feel less guilty about skipping last week's post. Sorry, but not sorry.

The good news is the shop is so different!

I can't even list everything that we sold and added, but I will call out a couple of new favorites. The two Mid Century schoolhouse maps are amazing, the huge drafting table is regretfully for sale because of the office move as well as the insane industrial iron desk. I don't want to sell either. YOU'RE WELCOME.

The new part of the shop is going to take a little getting used to but we're excited to have the space and more importantly to have more product in stock!

As always, enjoy the tour and let us know if you see anything you like.

Thanks for stopping by. See you next week!

Check out the shop!

I mean, you know, if you have a second. Just saying, it's pretty cool.

We said goodbye to both of the Mid Century lowboys and the dark wood antique dresser that had been part of Michele's collection for almost ten years. The saddest goodbyes this week; however, were Michele's favorite little green club chair and Ryan was brokenhearted loosing the US highway map. Yes, we do get that attached.

Each piece we sell is an absolute one of a kind. Sometimes we're lucky enough to run into pieces that are similar, but no two pieces have had the exact same life. Every little scratch and wrinkle has a story behind it and that makes every single piece we have meaningful to us. We love saving furniture.

So. On to the tour.

Our favorite new additions are definitely the antique black leather theater chesterfield and club chair. The industrial standing desk and bar cart were both once candidates for Ryan's office. And I've been trying to figure out how to use the two DOPE Mid Century brass coffee tables somewhere in the house. Fortunately for Ryan I am out. of. space.

Wait until you see this place. LOVE LOVE LOVE how much everything has been changing each week.

Let us know if you see anything you like and enjoy the tour!

Thanks for stopping by. See you next week!

WELCOME TO HOMESTEAD 05

Greetings!

As always, the shop has changed a lot this week. We sadly parted with the Blickman and Gatsby cabinets, Art Deco desk set, 1920s military chair and the Mid Century Lane highboy and nightstands. To make up for it, some new additions were the green leather club chair, Mid Century Union Made dresser set, burlwood nesting tables and the industrial art table.

This week the star of the show is the Pendleton Pearsall bench. It was made with the intention of joining two conversation areas and it works so well in its new location.

Overall the shop has a minimalist feel this week and we love it. We believe that it's important to let each individual piece have the opportunity to stand out in your home. Less stuff, better stuff.

Here's to another great week at Homestead.

Enjoy the tour!

Thanks for stopping by. See you next week!

Happy Tuesday, guys.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. We had the shop open almost all day both Saturday and Sunday. Weekends are a great time to make an appointment to stop by.

The shop has changed a lot this week. We sold almost all of our artwork, picked up a Lane Mid Century dresser set, moved the green chesterfield in and got back an insane black wool Pearsall chair from our upholsterer. We're excited to see what sells this week and what new pieces we find!

Take a look around and let us know if you see anything you like.

As always, enjoy the tour!

Thanks for stopping by. See you next week!
